How safe is Wireguard

    I have always used a VPN within my router as I know that every device on the network is safe.

    However, that does restrict speeds for everything.


    I am wondering just how safe would it be to use the WireGuard plugin on my E2 box?

    Is there a guide to installing it and the configuration?


    I installed it on my GBQuad4K running OpenPli and although the installation process went fine, I see nothing regarding Wireguard on my receiver.

    As you may know, wireguard itself is a communication protocol. In order to use the plugin, you need a VPN provider supported by the plugin or a wireguard configuration file.

    expressvpn uses lightway protocol includes post-quantum protection and keeps data in rams for very short time best one so far from others. I guess it's designed by them. Both openvpn and wireguard safe. Except openvpn keeps more data logs than wireguard or lightway.


    VPN always reduces your internet speed but not much. If you connect to the same country where you live you'll not notice much difference. But sometimes upload speed can drop a lot or cause disconnection high ping latency spikes if server overloaded. Download shouldn't change much.


    From my experience i've tried Openvpn plugin with Gigablue sometime ago and i used zoogvpn i believe. Servers kept disconnecting and it was not stable maybe it was plugin issue. I don't have this problem with Pc though.


    Safest vpn Protonvpn, Torguard, Expressvpn, Cyberghost, They do not keep logs. Even torguadvpn was sued by film studios. But they won in court because no data existed. They just shut down bitorrent servers in USA. and still works to this day.


    Always avoid USA servers cause you don't want to do anything with america they are bit crazy and controls people so much.

    I used the Madhosue plugin for a long time before writing one myself. I can say that it always worked perfectly, even with the kill switch feature. Often, the problem isn't with the plugin or the image you're using, but with incorrect DNS configuration or, even worse, a low-quality, low-reputation VPN provider.


    On Killswitch on i tried to update the image when wireguard was diconnected.

    No problems to get through eth. no block , nothing
