  • Hi,

So I have successfully setup my server and I have edited all the required files sitting in /tmp/ on the ubuntu server and now what I need to know is a few things that will my server work and sharing possible:

    1. I have to get a card reader either smargo or omnikey reader and configure it as explained in the above links
    - For my case I will be using a dstv i***** card, which I will insert into the smartcard reader. So in this case the card should be active and paid for, right? as in the monthly subscriptions
    - If the card is active, and I have configured it then that's it for this step.
    - I have read in several forums and they say that i***** will only work oscam and if the cards work with cccam then they are bound to be unstable

    2. What does it mean configuring my oscam/cccam for my sub?

    3. Once I am done with the above steps, (of course after knowing what step number 2 is) I should now be able to configure the F Lines and C lines so that I would have to give my friends the C Lines and the server would have to be configured with the F lines as explained in one of the links above.

Once all this is done, does it mean that the card sharing process is somehow complete or is what I have done and about to do utterly out of the ordinary.

I will appreciate your help on this

Is it possible for me to change the NODEID in the cccam server? If it is possible.. please show me how to.. Thanks.

If this is for adding a second instance of cccam, Yes I have seen it done, you have to start second cccam removing the nodeid.. I will edit this post when I find the info..

Yes, you will need a paid up & active card.. For the card reader, I would always recommend omnikeys..

Yes, as long as your card can be shared on oscam (See answer to Q1)

Yes, sharing your card will be complete.. (again see answer to Q1 because I'm not familiar with that card)

So as you say, your "a complete novis" and in your very first post and you want to setup vps server..
    Have a close look @ rules 11 & 12
<11> Anyone found to be running a Pay Server will be permanently banned.
<12> If you are the supporter of a Pay Server DO NOT ask for support, your request will be ignored.
this threaad is not for you to post a random question on setting up cccam vps server..

On the reader status it says the following:

    Current Channel Blank
    LB Value/Reader No Data
    Status CARDOK (13 Entitlements)

Is this an indication that everything is now working ok on the oscam side?

  • Yep, all looks good there now m8.. Now you just need to confirm that cccam is connected to your card in oscam..
    If so, job done

Current Channel Blank (This is because you have not requested a channel through cccam yet)
LB Value/Reader No Data (No loadbalancing/Reader data generated yet because... As above)
    Status CARDOK (13 Entitlements)

Now, its only a matter of adding Flines & Clines to cccam.cfg

  • Am I correct in thinking as there are no devices connected the only think in the cccam webif would be under server tab:

    Host 127.0.0.1:10000
    connected blank
    type newcamd
    version blank
    nodeid blank
    cards 0
    caid/idents blank

If Oscam was linked to ccam woudln't the cards be 1 instead of 0?

  • Im a bit out of touch with cccam m8 & I dont have it running to test, can you see the connection in oscam webif status Tab?

    Also m8, post introduction..

  • on oscam server ip:8888 status says cardok 13 entitlements, on cccam web server under servers it dispays newcand, should this be cccam? I've lost my old user details so created a new account, but will read the rules and induction again. Many thanks.

  • Everything is working ok no apart from ProFTPD warning: cannot start neither in standalone nor in inetd/xinetd mode. (this is from the automated script) can anyone assist?

  • I've got everything working ok, only thing that doesn't seem to work is cron jobs that were built into the install. Can anyone assist in how to achieve this?

  • Great tutorial, I've followed it from start to finish. But for some reason I can't get oscam or cccam to start when I try Sudo CCCam.x86 and Sudo oscam .b nothing happens.

I then try Sudo killall -9 CCcam.x86 and sudo killall -9 oscam, and I get no process found. I've searched and gone through various threads a lot of people with similar solution but I haven't found a working solution for me.

I had accidentally installed the 64bit version however I have overwritten that with the 32bit Version, could that of caused a conflict?

Don't mind starting from beginning again but would be nice to potentially solve it a lot quicker

You are trying to start oscam from the wrong location, try this instead.

    Code
    /usr/local/bin/oscam -b

Check this command is present in the file /etc/rc.local which makes oscam auto start.

Hi Mate, I've checked and I have that command present.

    Code
    /usr/local/bin/CCcam.x86

I've just done a fresh install and I'm having the same issue, I am running Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.5.0-23-generic x86_64)
