Login as root user & you should have no problems changing them mate.

Probably because pcscd is running..
--
in telnet/ssh do a: killall -9 pcscd
Then, try to overwrite again..
after, reboot.

i see this on alot of new guides about opensc
why do u need to install opensc for the omnikey?
its never been needed before

I dont quite understand the need for it either... and the crashes that someone refered to earlier in the thread still happens under debian as well. I've tested on Both Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and 12.04 so I elaborated a script instead to check for the errors and restart pcsc whenever its detected on the oscam.log.
-
can you post the script as these readers have cut out 4 times today on me with flashing red so i have to pull in and out its a nightmare
-
for version 10.04 lts forgot to say that nalso sorry forgot to ask does the scriupt stop the red flashing or would i be better using smargo readers even though i think omnikey is better

You would be better solving the problen causing the crash than adding more scripts, check your logs mate.
-
i did not set the log gonna do it now, didn,t realise about doing that in the config at the start
-
gonna have to wait until they turn red again then see in the log as the log is not showing anything at the minute as it is working ok
-
Its a known fault, I've checked the logs over and over hundreds of times and searched for a solution but there doesn't seem to be one or if there is nobody is sharing it, the only alternative I found was a script to check the oscam script every minute and to restart pcscd and oscam whenever an the error comes up for now....
BTW cards I have are Rom142 N3 on the omnikey.
-
were does it get installed to i meanm directory

were does it get installed to i meanm directory
Ive got mine in /var/script
then added a line in root's crond tab to run the script every minute.
-
i also think it to do with the oscam for if i uswe 7180 version you do not get the red flashing at all but if you wanna share with another server it works for a bit then just stops
-
ok cheers for the help off to the scratcher now
-
guys i have now moved over to version 7062 of oscam and been testing it now for the 12 hours with the readers and so far its stable no flashing readers and i have been doing alot of channel hopping also to test it, will post back how i get on as was told to use 7065 version but if this works out ok well and good
-
18 hours and still no problems at the minute will keep you,s upto date
