Dead ***box s12

i have a genuine s k y box s12 here and the firmware wen't corrupt on the box. i have tried using the stb erom upgrade 2.0.0c to reflash the box but nothing happens. at one point it was saying stb memory error but now i can't get anything to happen. i have the proper cables (null modem cable and RS232 Cable) and my serial port is onboard and has been tested with other boxes. at first i thought it was the null modem cable so i purchased another one from ebay and made sure it was the correct cable but it didn't help.
i have attached a picture of the screen when i turn the box on.

any ideas ?

already tried those methods over and over with no luck. i guess the newer model is cheap enough to replace it. thanks for the help your actually the first person to confirm this for me everyone else seems stumped as i am
