1 dreambox and a Openbox

    I have a DM 500 and an Openbox. Both boxes are in the same internal network.


    What I wanted to know is that, how do i get the Openbox to work off the DM500. I want to add a C line form the openbox that will point to the DM500 and obtain channels!!


    Is that possible or am i talking bubbles???

    Its not possible because the openbox is only a client, so you cant create a cline for the dreambox.
    You would have to create a c line in the dreambox to serve the openbox.
    Heres how you would do it :
    Dreambox
    F: openbox password


    Openbox
    C: ipaddressofthedreambox 12000 openbox password no
    You need to use the ip address instead of the hostname when you are sharing within your own network.

    Remember that you will lose a hop! It shouldnt make to much difference tho if your connecting localy through a router! Also the ip address of the Dreambox needs to be static! The openbox you can use DHCP! Best way to get static ip from dreambox is to start it with DHCP then go to settings and uncheck the DHCP box! Write down the IP number assigned and use that in your Cline for the Openbox!

    both boxes are internal, they are using the same router so i wont lose a hop... Thankfully I have setup s static DHCP for the DM and the openbox... Lets see if i can get the c line working when i get home!!!

    Ha Ha! No problem mate! One thing tho! Open box is client only so wont need the static IP! Just the Cline with the ip of the Drambox needed!
