  • Vu+ UNO BH1.7.6
    Trying to install TS Panel
    FTP the ipk to /tmp
    Green/Yellow select ipk OK

get an error claiming No Space On Device

    Green Screen

Total restart - have to setup everything including positioner Long/Lat etc....

Flash is showing 100% used - is this normal?
    HDD is empty
    RAM just <40%

Sorry if these are dumb questions but have had this a week and still trying to get my head round it.

  • you have filled your flash. which is not good for the health of the image.

    How do I empty it?

How have I filled my flash?

I have only got BH1.7.6 and the Catseye channel lists on here...

    I haven't installed any plugins

I was trying yo get VLC so i could stream vids from my comp HDD across the network but it wouldn't install from the software management/software list so was looking to grab it through TS PAnel.

  • i would personally just reflash the receiver than trying to empty the flash, then start again. also make sure your EPG is not set to the flash as this can easily go wrong and cause this problem.

    OpenViX on Twitter @0penViX

  • the EPG it self once running is held in live memory and only written to storage or read from on bootup or shutdown. i recommend either USB or HDD as perfect locations for EPG but dont use flash because EPG data can easily corrupt and grow huge filling up the flash very rapidly.

  • Reflashed
    Remounted HDD
    Pointed EPG at HDD

    working but

Vu+ UNO is advertised as having 512Mb RAM
My box is reporting total RAM at 275440kB and flash at 100.692M

So where is the rest of the RAM and what's it doing?

  • these are my stats with the vix 3.0-262 image

  • Not sure how you get that info....

Using web control on VUCC I see this:
    Box
    Brand: Vuplus
    Model: uno
    Chipset: 7405(with 3D)
    Frontprocessor Version: 0
    Total Memory: 275440 kB
    Free Memory: 209512 kB
    Box Uptime: 1:02
    Software
    Kernel version: 3.1.1
    Firmware version: BlackHole 1.7.6
    Gui version: Jul 7 2012-vuplus_experimental
    Tuners
    Tuner A: Vuplus DVB-S NIM (DVB-S2)
    Hard disk model: ATA(Hitachi HDS72105)
    Capacity: 500.107 GB
    Free: 488.031 GB
    Network interface: eth0
    DHCP: True
    Ip address: 192.168.1.135
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    Mac address: 00:1d:ec:03:f9:39

Now last time I did basic maths 275440kB is WAY less than the advertised 512Mb.....

  • i got my info via a telnet session using the df -h command. and yes the uno does have the stated 512MB ram but part of that is reserved for core functions of the receiver in the same way that the ultimo has 1GB of ram but half is reserved for core functions and later use.

the uno has more than adequate ram but images such as BH and VTI that are based on the OI firmware are very large and in some cases almost double that of other pli / pli based images.

    OpenViX on Twitter @0penViX

  • i forget the exact technical specs at present but the receiver does have the stated 512MB ram and as i said part of this is withheld from the user for core functions.

with the cat /proc/meminfo command via telnet.

  • because its partitioned off and not accessible to the user, why report memory that is not accessible ?.

for example here are the same commands run on my ultimo which has 1GB of ram but not all of that is accessible to the user.
