Inputting username and password on boot

  • Is there anyway so that if I reboot my Ubuntu server I don't have to enter the username and password by using the keyboard attached to the server, can it be bypassed or entered via a different device on the LAN?


    Its just in an awkward spot and I have to get off my arse :P

  • Its an old laptop so they are attached anyway, thanks for replying, I thought it had to be logged in before I can use Putty, which is what I use now :)
