  • Hello All,
    Can anybody help me in setting up my Alien2 as an server using oscam.
    I can read my official card in receiver and it clears all paid for channels.
    However i cannot send it to my other boxes, 1 in house and the other is my fathers dreambox.
    My other box was a dreambox 500 and this worked ok using cccam.

    Thanks in advance for any help.
    Cheers

  • I can't follow all this..

    Where are your [reader] 's ?
    Post oscam.server too..

    Also..

    I noticed you set hostname= , in the user-part..
    This means that these users can ONLY connect from the IP mentioned there..., which is a internal one..

    Please understand..

    oscam.user represents all your clients..
    oscam.server (readers) are representing real cardreaders or proxies to get ECM's from..

  • Here is my server file,

    [reader]
    label = dreambox
    protocol = cccam
    device = *******
    user = ******
    password = ******
    cccversion = 2.1.3

    this is my user

    [account]
    user = user1
    pwd = password1
    group = 1
    uniq = 1

    [account]
    user = ******
    pwd = ******
    caid = 0963
    ident = 0963:000000
    cccmaxhops = 2
    cccreshare = 2

  • There's your problem..
    Add group=1 to the reader AND user, and restart oscam...
    Group is a required field..

  • Ok they now look like this: But the top use account is dvapi and is connected however my other dreambox will not connect?
    [reader]
    label = dreambox
    protocol = cccam
    device = ******
    user = *****
    password = ******
    group = 1
    cccversion = 2.1.3

    pwd = password1
    group = 1
    uniq = 1

    [account]
    user = ********
    pwd = ******
    group = 1
    cccmaxhops = 2
    cccreshare = 2

  • The DVBAPI is the user that your own receiver is using to decode. Leave that as it is.

    You really have to overthink what you're doing.. Otherwise it will become a mess :)

    What protocol does this remote dreambox use ? CC-Cam ?

    Did you open up a port for CC-CAM in oscam ?
    Check config->cc-cam to open.

    Also, if the dreambox connecting is connecting from internet, you need to forward this port on your router.

    Did you do all that ?

  • Ok, My dreambox is my server running on port 12000
    My ccam configuration port in oscam is 15894

    Both of these ports are forwarded to the relevant box ip's.

    I have just noticed that in the global config there is no server ip, do i need to enter one in here?

    I'm lost again..

    You say, "My dreambox is my server running on port 12000"
    What exactly is running on port 12000 ?

    You should use one oscam. This reads the card, and also acts as cc-cam server.
    If you setup cc-cam port 15894 in Oscam.. This is the port that clients should connect to..

    You don't need to add server ip's.

  • Im sorry to confuse you pal.

    What i meant to say is my dreambox used to be my server, im now switching to the alien2 box with oscam to do the serving. However i cant get my other dreambox up stairs to connect.
    So i was testing to see if my alien2 box will connect to the dreambox server to receive sub, which it does, but i cant get the alien2 box with oscam to send the sub on to my other box.

    Or am i complicating things and need to leave the card in the alien2 box?????

  • No problem.. But you have to keep it simple..

    Just choose one main Oscam, doesn't matter on which device, just choose as you prefer.
    Add the cardreader to this oscam, and open a CC-Cam port. Then create users for every box you want to connect additionally.

    Last step is to create a c-line from the remote receiver, to the IP and port chosen on main oscam server.
    Put a user/pass in the c-line, which you have created in Oscam.

    That should really be it...

  • Ok CapNcook,
    I have connections both ways now thanks for that. But even though my card is in the box and clearing channels it is not forwarding to clients any ideas?

  • We ourselves can not get involved in card sharing talk as I am sure you can understand, so I will leave that part to others, but what I can say is it's likely you have the MCAS pluging installed and running at the moment which is how your Alien 2 is clearing channels, and that's perfectly fine if you just want to use the card in this receiver and nothing more, if you want to use this card with OScam though you will need to disable the MCAS plugin first of all and then add a new [reader] setup to the oscam.server file to ensure it's now OScam that's taking control of your Alien 2 card readers and reading the card that's in the slot, sci0 = top slot and sci1 = bottom slot.
