Newbie Qns concerning

Just started looking at replacing certain hd sly box's with somthing like a VU+ Duo to perform as a cs client and also act as a server to another HD receiver blade or open/***box for another room.{m-room} if possible..??

Hopefully the Vu+ will be man enough for the job, and home lan should suffice.... (wireless or cat)

So just a few questions before i dig deeper, if you dont mind...

1. Are there many services out there that are providing dual logins for dual tuners ?
Just had an email back from satvps.com ststing they or nobody else can due to conjestion causing the 2 receivers to drop evry now and then ??

I assumed that if you had a sat reciever with dual tuners, that sthis wouldnt be a issue ?? am i wrong

2. ADSL downlink is around 3mb, so should be ample for cs.. BUT if the kids are streaming or xboxing, what minumum bandwidth should i reserve (qos) for cs ?? 500k ?

Yes the Duo will more than cope with what you have planned buddy! Very Good choice and supported well here!

In answer to your questions!

Always best to go wired with everything IMO.....Thick walls...Dodgy Routers...e.t.c e.t.c always seem to pop up when using wireless...but thats just me!

You've lost me on your first question
Normally the process would be as follows!

Duo as Receiver and Server with Card inserted (Use a backup image with Oscam or Oscam/Cccam preinstalled from out Duo Backup Section for ease of use)
The Duo has 2 tuners so you will be able to use both....view/record 1 channel and use the other to watch e.t.c

From you Duo(Server) using Oscam or Cccam (Read through forum) you create lines to your other boxes....in this case the ***box F3 from within your network!

If wish to go outside your network you need to allow this by editing configs e.t.c all of which is within the forum!

satvps? are wishing to create a CS server in the Clouds?

Question 2!

The more the better.....especially if the kids DL/Stream or Xboxing but your current setup should be more then enough!

Min Bandwith......How longs a piece of string.....how many connections e.t.c what is you upload speed?

Like i said have a look at the backup images with the cams installed.....they should be setup for SLY also! Read up on the various tuts to get an understanding of how it all works!

Can you clarify this please? - have a read of the rules because if it is anything to do with paying for a cs service - we don't support that here.

Much appreciated guys.

Just to finalise, having a receiver with dual tuners like the Duo, i should be able to watch and record on the other tuner using 1 ISP line and 1 cs subscription ??

I was just confused where people were stating that when using a cs service, due to the double checking of the "word" every x seconds, that it would saturate thier network server nic cards, so they dont offer the service (dual login ???)
It got nothing to do with paying for a cs service, its just finding out whats actually possible..
I have 2 hd slyboxes and want to replace them with a cs service + home client/server, but want to able to watch on one tuner and record on the other, and then offer this service to my kids internally using the "words" from the due server.

If its not possible, unless i have to have an ISP line per tuner + a subscription per tuner, then i may not go any further.

Hopefully i have tried to explain it a it better..

spud312r - as I said - read the rules - You intend to pay for a cardsharing service - read up a bit more - paying for it is not card sharing, there is a clue in the word 'sharing' as to how you should go about it. The people you pay the money to will be happy to take your money and run, and will be the cause for this hobby to disappear. This forum is for hobbyists. I will close the thread and please read the rules and more of the forum to understand the concept before requesting help again.
