Advice on recording to external hard drive

STB: VU+ Uno
Image: VTi - v. 4.2.0

I have a 500g Hard Drive formatted in fat32 and I added the folder "movie". I can mount it and it and it shows as sda1. I have tried setting media/usb in device manager by pressing OK on hand set or the green button.

Whether I reboot or not when I go to recording path system set up the only option I am presented with is hdd/movie.

I have even initialised it and the stb formatted it into Ext3 but I still cannot get it to recognise the usb as a recording path.

What am I missing?

As it was plugged in the USB I went for that option. I am now recoding without any problem.
