  • Hi, i have a dm800hd with dream elite blackhole image currently running. Is there any tutorials showing how to access dm800 from outside home network using the android app Dream Droid???
I'm going on holidays soon and would like to be able to watch tv using my galaxy s2 while i'm abroad.

    Thanks

  • Are you sure its called dream droid, cuse ive just been on market and seems its not there, or is it dream streamoid?

Edit: Ive found it... was all one word, you can't use it externally, its only intended for use with a local STB.

  • Never tried it, but this should be possible with dreamstreamoid pro (you have to pay a fee for this app - don't think it is possible with the free version) - using a VLC server - you would need the vlc server do reduce the bandwidth of the stream to something that is practical across the internet, you could access your server by using a your dynamic dns (where you would normally use the IP of your VLC server)- you would also need to open some ports on your router - I have never tried this before but I know it is possible. There is also a way to configure your VLC server computer to wake on lan so it isn't on all the time while you are away

    Code

    good luck!

If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....

  • Thanks musogeek but could ya explain some things to me please... I'm not sure how to configure all this....too many ports and ip addresses....lol..... Can ya please explain which ports i forward in my router and to which device then what i edit the config files to in both the server plugin and the Enigma2 plugin....

    Thanks... ;-)

  • what bits have you tried and what bits do you not understand? I went through this myself a few months ago and managed to get it working internally - you need to make sure the vlc web interface is used as per the instructions to that VLC can read your receiver web interface, switch the channels and recode so it is small enough to stream on your network.

as per the avove illustration - there are 3 ports that need forwarding - you need to forward 2 to your vlc server IP (the computer running vlc) and one to the reciever.

It really is all there. If you keep your PC on while you are away you don't need to worry about wake up packets.

  • also noticed the path mentioned in the tutorial for the http folder (web interface) is incorrect - this is needed to get to the 4 illustrated folders to place the .access password files inside -
    the path is

    C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\http

the .access file should contain username and password as in

    user:pass

    as per tutorial

  • you could always try enigma webtv - you can access streams on android phones with flash installed

    Code
