Help - can't get anything to show on my DM500S

    I am new to this (first post) and having spent a say trawling though this (and other forums). The only thing I have managed to do is flash the dreambox. It started off as locked as the pin was forgotten so flashed the box for a fresh start.


    Since flashing the first time - I uploaded commando 14.6 and had the same issue as another guy on here that the transponder scan failed. After much frustration, not getting much further and generally getting miffed at the situation I decided to flash to Gemini 4.70 which doesnt even have the option to scan (same with Evolution) so back to commando 14.6


    Now I am not getting much further on this and looking for help.


    I have trawled through the forum and seem to get bogged down with technical terms that I am struggling with. I always believed to be reasonably comupter literate.


    I am pretty certain the dish is pointing the right wat as *** set it up, nothing has changed and the *** box still picks up channels.


    Is there an idiot proof guide to this as am getting increasingly frustrated, it was dark when I started and its dark again now. Just the basics in reasonably plain english.

    do yourself a favour and pass by introductions as it should have been your first post and your second port of call after reading the forum rules.
    Maybe then somebody might be able to help you and you wont feel so stupid after all,, you´ll be part of a very big community ;)

    Sorry Cazuela - was overly frustrated with not understanding stuff - I am currently getting evils from the other half as she just expects this to plug in and go - but tbh I'm getting a bit frustrated to. I have trawled through allsorts today and just want to start with the basics - then add to my skills bit by bit.

    Seriously I have trawled though so much today to try and fathom things out - your help is much appriciated!!

    take it step by step..
    first : load on image
    second : load on emulator,for example , CCcam( depending on which card you are subbed to)
    third: depending on what your future plan is for the box( meaning are you going ot setup a server so that you can view from other boxes in your home? )
    the most important : reading is the road to success, trial + error is the key ;)
    last but certainly not least ,at least until you get a better understanding of all this,
