  • Hello All
Last weekend i joined the world of cs with my DM500 and have picked up some nice shares from nice people. Ive been reading away and see people being told to watch clients with high ecm's, so what sort of numbers am i looking for? I have one share im a bit dubious off, hes either watching 24hrs a day or hes running a pay server.

Another question, how many shares is the optimum for a DM500 i think i remember reading years ago no more than 10 clients or the box cant cope, is this right?

Any other golden rules i should be following?

    Thanks

  • I think sky requests an ECM every 3-5 seconds. So 24 hours leaving it on would request 17,280-28,800 ECM's a day!
Who would watch tv 24 hours a day though.

Maybe it's a linux reciever and someone leaves it on a encrypted channel when not watching

  • Maybe, but both my DM500 & DM800 don't request ECM's when on standby no matter what channel they're left on.

Multipack, I'd just monitor it. Maybe don't give them reshare (as long as they're not using a Debian server.)

I always thought the dm still d/loaded data when in standby ?, which is why I always put it on a fta channel goin to bed.

  • It does still transmit data, your server still works, but ECM's arent requested as the channel isn't physically on.
You can check this by monitoring Cccam in debug mode then switching to standby.
