Presuming you have a hard drive installed put it to /media/hdd/music (create the folder named music)

If you install merlin music player it will play pretty much any format buddy,

Definatley the best music player for E2 i have come across to date, you should be able to install it from the images feeds.

It is worth noting however that while the merlin music player is a nice addition and yes it will add more functions that dont exist in the default E2 media player but it wont add any support for other formats as this is handled by hardware not software.

I use WebRadioFS and that's pretty good.....a load of genres!
Shoutcast also pretty good
