Basically, it gives your system more memory to cache things to, which can be useful for a low memory receiver like the Solo..
If you have lots of processes or plugins installed it may sometimes struggle, this is where the swap file will help.

does everything default to the swap file directory, or do you have to set it to go there. Like epg data.

will all new plugins etc default to swap file location? or do you have to set something up for plugins etc to go to that directory
Cheers

Setup the swap file by pressing Blue button X2 >> Swap File Settings >> then configure File Swap, once configured the swap file will activate itself when needed.

That`s not how a swap file works, by default plugins/processes will always be loaded from physical memory on your receiver, when the physical memory becomes overloaded then the swap file kicks in..

think ill delete nearly all the plugins from my vu+solo, as its only used for watching tv by the kids and missus....will this make it more faster and free up memory ?..cheers
