Which port to open advice ?

quick question when setting up dreambox 500s do i change the port settings i the communications set up page from 80 to 12000 if my router is set to port forward on 12000 any help would be great thanks

No m8 just leave that at 80..
The only thing you change is the "server listen port" in the cccam.cfg.
So you can set the port in the router to anything you want, say port 55555, doesnt have to be 12000 thats just an example everyone uses.
Just match the "server listen port" to the same as what you have openned in the router.

just to add to master G?s advice ,,,change the default port 12000 and password to avoid any unwanted "intrusions"...
make sure you dont choose a port already in use by any other programme

You should have clicked on the link cazuella gave you mate

Important - before you start sharing change dreambox password

How to change your password using DCC

click on telnet then you get a black screen
type on the screen login

root
dreambox if default

then type passwd

then it will give you the option to type a new password be careful because you do not see any letters come on the screen type the password then hit return and retype it again, then you will see password changed.

if you see the bad password: too weak. ignore it and retype the same as you did first.

Reboot box, job done.
