bh image 1.7.9-3 _how can I update it without losing any settings

make a personal backup ,its on the image itself ,
but I would make a personal copy of all my own configs,settings,etc,through FTP,and keep aside somewhere safe and handy..

but not all of your scripts,plugins and maybe skins will be saved by this way!
