Difference between Backup and Normal Image

  • Hi everyone!

Please be gentle! Novice here! : )

I'm interested in the VU+ SOLO2 but still waiting for the DUO2 to come out to see if it's worth the extra cash and was looking at the images. I came across the OpenVix Backup UK Image which I like, very nice skin and was wondering what the difference is between the normal and backup image. And can I install the backup version straight after unboxing the VU+? Or do have to install the normal image first?

Another thing, the only thing that worries me with the VU+ SOLO2 is the 256mb flash. Is it sufficient? And the fixed tuner, but I can always buy a USB tuner I think?

Anyway, many thanks and sorry for these silly questions,

You can flash any backup straight on to your solo2, the difference is the person making the backup has configured it ready with the latest settings, plugins ect before sharing it with the community.
Regarding the flash it is more than sufficient for all the addons you could want, this box is fast, very fast.

  • Many thanks!

The backup image I saw is for UK channels but if I install this backup image, can I add new channels from different satellites/bouquets just the same?

    Thanks again!
