Installing Smargo readers on Debian 6

Hi, I am new to debian 6 so bare with me, I am trying to get my smargo smart reader working on my debian 6 server, I have been reading the tutorial to do so butI amgetting a bit confused when it comes to this bit

4: Uptate beginning.
Copy to your PC linux server FTP 2 files:
srp_tools_x86
srp_update_x86
Set on console to both file chmod 755 !

I have DL the smargo driver on the destop of my PC but am unsure how to FTP it to my debian server and where to FTP it to. Can anybody help me out as I have hit a bit of a wall? Thanks

How do I run ./CCcam.x86 -d, do I not need to install drivers -srp_tools_x86
srp_update_x86. Sorry, I'm trying to get my head around this but I'm struggling.
