Anybody know anything about this box I bought it thinking it was a dreambox 500s, how it does have dreambox software, just wondering about ccams and images available etc

ddaddy its the one in the link from glenview, i can connect with dcc but it says no boot manager so does that mean i have to put an image on it?, I have been able to set it up a tune satellite and network

Yes you need to flash it but i'd wait until we see what images are actually compatible first!

Just from what i have seen mate it is a dm500s clone and that ebay link states clearly it will work...
Flash it with a dm500s clone image and you'll be sorted m8!

do I flash by Ethernet ?, if so with the dreambox you keep the on button pressed when booting to obtain ip address, this box doesn't have a display, or would I image it with dreamup and serial?

I flashed my dm500s through serial anyways m8...

If you knew the ip address of the box you could use flash wizard over the network.
Best way to flash enigma1 receivers is with a null modem cable and dreamup.. -

Can you comment of the quality of the box? Just looked on the ebay link and it dont look bad. Would match my surround system as its silver u see.

Just thinking and there are a few possibilities!
Try flash erase several times and reflash with a different image...
Try different versions of the dream up, have seen a person with the same problem and tried several different versions of dream up and managed to flash the box again!
Hope it wasnt gemini v.4.31 you flashed it with!!

Been reading a bit and is the green light stuck on the box?
Have you tried the old trick of turning it off at the mains??
Prob won't work but its a shot!..
