csp server HELP

hi all i'm new to servers etc and i'm thinking of using csp but whats it really for exactly whats the benefits etc?
does it make my home ip harder to detect?
sorry if its a stupid question i'm curious and love tinkering with my new setup which is a great pass time and hobby :)
