  • Hello,
How to get working powervu on a Zgemma H7.AC with openatv 6.2?
Only had the box for 2 weeks and am in the US. Have found keys for a few channels.
I did try openpli 6.1 and 6.2 but is not easy to use remote control. So went back to openatv 6.2.

The tutorials are not in English and very difficult to understand.
Path to files for different oscam I tried are different from tutorials. Would like to get a clean start with working version and maybe clear instructions.
    I'm confused!

I use FTA with iks on ku, so linux box on c-band is new to me.
Do I need a subscription first with provider? When working will I be able to watch on tv?
    Help me understand please.

Can members please help me to get started? Thanks!

  • Anybody?
I've read a lot. Had several softcams installed from ipk files. There were oscam files in many locations.
I uninstalled them but 1 was still in my softcam list.
Now have a fresh openatv 6.2 install with no softcams at all.
What works with the H7 and openatv? Help to get just one powervu working would be a great help.
What about autoroll? Does this mean keys will update? And is a pc needed still to find keys?

    • Official Post

    you need oscam emu

    Valid keys

Auto roll will work with valid emm key

Finding keys is done on a pc with the right tools to do so

See this thread with the same question

HOW TO ADD BISS CODE TO SOFTCAM.KEY FOR VU+UNO4K SE

  • so which oscam emu would be the best version for my receiver running openatv 6.2?
the links send me reading all over again. and since the versions i tried from the forum did not resemble the oscam control panel to check settings to see if they even worked at all, or put the oscam files all over the place in linux. it was hard to follow.
i'd just like to find one correct version for my receiver and enigma build to learn from.
i get the pc with correct tools to find keys. versions i tried did not show any way to set for auto roll.
i'm good with computers and 'ok' with linux. but i still need help getting a start. much reading and some confusion.
    thanks jensen.

no worries we all started somewhere, i cant help with your specific key requirements but i will attach an ipk to this thread shortly

    vuplus-team.com-oscampowervu-arm_OpenAtv-11432_all.ipk

There is basically 3 versions of these satellite boxes mips, arm and sh1 boxes, just remember your zgemma is an arm based box

attached is an arm version for openatv

once it is intalled and started under info panel with your remote controll you can log into the oscam web interface with your boxes ip address :8888

    example 192.168.1.14:8888

the keys will need updating to your needs......

post any other questions you may have

  • Thanks! lol.
i'm a bit geeky. knew the receiver is arm based. and hope i made a good decision getting it.
i was able to get into the other interfaces. but suggested settings boxes didn't seem to be there.
some ipk's i installed wouldn't uninstall and left files in different directories for the versions they were.
who knows what versions used the same directories? a bit confusing. and of course youtube videos of 'how to' with an Indian guy jumping through
fast and inserting an english word here and there is frustrating. ending up saying thanks for watching my youtube video, please subscribe. haha.
i'll give the attachment a try. and go from there.
i wasn't sure if an emu for arm based boxes would work for atv, pli, etc.... but i tried pli and it really sucked. for the zgemma h7 anyway.

is there any directory structure listing for the ipk i'm installing? or do just have to poke around and see?

its easy, just unzip the ipk file with z7ip, keep unzipping the files and you will see exactly what files are in there and where it goes file structure wise. ipk files are just an easy way to install things, normally i just ftp the files over.

Probably best to reflash and start again ,(think you have already) if you have lots of other bits of softcams in there. Oscam emu will do everything possible anyways.

All of the various images differ, pli is very fast on the zgemma but my favourite is pure2, but imho it would be better to get used to one before trying the others....I have no time for youtube "how to vids" lol, much prefer forums

  • me too. but the 'tube can be fun sometimes.
okay. ipk installed. box rebooted. can get into the softcam panel and start SelectCam 1.
it starts. for now im on an itc channel.

if i leave the softcam panel and come back in, oscampowervu11432 has stopped. i can restart it.
i can get into openwebif. if i click on OSCam Webinterface. Nothing (cant open this page). in ie and firefox.
using my box ip (192.168.5.200:8888) same thing.

the previous atv install, the oscam version i had did keep working.
    i know i'm missing something!

i quickly found the usr/keys directory.

    any tips?

Yes. It's a fresh install. I didnt want to clutter the OS with trying this and that.

    mmmmmm....

there is an issue that is somewhat widespread with oscam emu not starting, it has something to do with running 2 emu's i will not go into details right now

ftp to usr - keys - oscam.server and in that file delete this reader (you will not be using it anyways)

save the edited file and ftp and overwrite

reboot box and ensure oscam now runs correctly

  • that worked great. restarted the box, oscam already started itself.
can get into the interface from openwebif and :8888.
    so cool!

getting this. Is it me? or a config?
looked and the directory truly isn't there.

    ....baby steps!!

so my gut instinct was to create the missing directory and copy all files from /usr/keys into the the new /etc/tuxbox/config/ directory.
did i do right? too much or too little? things look a bit happier now. what do you think? this was while i was on a powervu channel.
also, do i need to change any permissions (755 ??) before i go further?

okay good stuff oscam running as it should now....

Now will come the part where you need to sort your keys out, that can be another whole new mission as to what format they should be in, hopefully another user from your side of the pond can help.....

The error in the log above is right, the file is missing you will need to make a softcam.key file in that location if you are going to use constcw

You can change location of these file too, just have a look at oscam.server again for that reader

You will also need to look at the softcam.key file if you want to add keys there (usr - keys)

  • getting it all running has been a...trip. only my 3rd week into this. old dish, new lnb. cabling, receiver. dish mover. finding and scanning sats. finding how to config blind scan files so diseqc 1.2 swings the dish where i want it. different software, reading. all that stuff!

do i need to worry about stream relay? if i get correct keys will the channel(s) just pop in and work?
i feel like i have to tippy toe here but ku band over here has been pretty good for several years. that, i got!

hey. thanks for the help and patience. difficult thing to find these days.

    • Official Post

That is a whole lot of new things in one go i must say, i spent weeks on my first dish and that was after i had been playing with the box a good few years prior. Still learning stuff everyday would be a pointless hobby otherwise

Okay i do not need to use stream relay on my h7 so you should be fine without it as well.

Yes i would say a valid key, in the right format for enigma2 boxes and you should be good to go

What sats do you pick up over there ??

We do not really talk in too much detail about keys on this forum (for obvious reasons)

you may find some of what you need over here

    Code
    http://www.sat-universe.com/forumdisplay.php?f=507
  • so far i've scanned 15 sats from 127 w to 116.8 w.

there are a billion config settings in the oscam panel. if i could get one channel coming in and see it working from the oscam panel....

i'm tired though. i feel like i've hurdled a big boundary just finding a correct ipk that works with my box.
    tomorrow's another day.

  • well i'm back!
jensen i've read and read some of your other posts and replies here. very helpful.
i have a very busy live log in oscam. if i had one channel working, then figuring out how and why others aren't would be much easier.
or give me a better understanding of what exactly is happening with the decoder.

just wondering a few things. hoping i make sense.
the oscam.keys file is very full of sats i'll never get. can i safely edit and delete those?

after the p... hex number sequences..; channel name , position, transponder.
is the channel name, etc needed for the decoder to work? or is that just a reference commenting to replace future keys?

formatting from sources in a google search i've found for sats i can get look different than what's in my keys file.
    some have ecmkey0=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx....ecmkey1=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
where do those go? others have emm keys. same question.

if this is getting 'fringey' would a few pm's be ok?

is part of a live log ok?

at this point (like many others) i have oscam working. while on a few pv channels with audio only i've restarted the oscam program to see if audio went away...telling me it was at least partially working. audio has stayed playing.

    lol. busy?

  • So I dont seem to be getting anywhere. Tons of reading of how to setup the oscam files. Found a few pv keys by Googling.
Can I get a little explanation of this clip of a log file for me. I can read whats going on, just cant figure out what's wrong.
I'm on 127W and the pv key was for playboy tv....just because the key was out there. It shows as Guide...??
Playboy ESP shows correctly in the log.....of course both aren't decoding. When inserting found keys, is the format they are shown in good enough or do I need to edit them in my files? Frustrating yes. Not giving up though.

If anything in this log isn't allowed here let me know. Not trying to break rules.
Of course the ITC channel is coming in. Guide is incorrectly named in the log...have a pv key....but not decoding.
And the third one shows correct, no key though and is of course not decoding.

    I need a beer!

Post the keys you have found to this thread, also the channel and service reff your trying to decode with its key.....

Im not a guru on this by any means, you (we) both need help now.......

Perhaps W@Rp would be nice and help ??

  • alrightey then (and no...i dont want to actually watch nudies. but figured out i'd concentrate on just one channel),

off of a google search i found this:

    Galaxy 13 127 West

    3820 H 30000

    Playboy Networks 127 West

    P 0000 00 D06BE505A8A436 ;

    P 0000 01 3530605CF4F44D ;

so i placed it at the bottom of my oscam.keys list in the section full of leading 'p' characters like this:

    P 0000 00 D06BE505A8A436 ;

    P 0000 01 3530605CF4F44D ;

    saved it to /etc/tuxbox/config/oscam.keys.
    restarted oscam. nothing.....
then read, read, read. looked at other keys in the file and edited it to:
    P 0000 00 D06BE505A8A436;03820:30000:H

    P 0000 01 3530605CF4F44D;03820:30000:H

still no good and in the oscam web interface live log got:

    • 7B30E0CE r (emu) Key not found: P 0007 00
    • 7B30E0CE r (emu) ECM failed: Key not found

at that point seeing no decoding, etc and that the channel was 'Guide' instead of what it really was (remember that playboy esp, a pv channel with no key, and reelz, an itc channel....show properly in logs.
unless i'm really brain-thick there's nothing i read that made sense. and i can understand why.

but in my oscam.keys file there are lines and lines of
    P 0000 00

    P 0000 01

then i jumped in and tried to use pv home edition, find emm keys and other thing i didn't really know what to do with.

that was a total bust! but did find the settings to always include ecm in recordings.

don't laugh too hard or think im anything but a noob please. i can program a plc, servo controller, and machine files real proficiently. i'll be the best student you ever had! and yes, all of this did deserve a cold beer or 3.
