EPG file gets deleted when there is a crash

I am using BH on my Solo2 with the BH EPG saving to HDD. Unfortunately one or two of my plugins are causing a system crash (I am trying to sort that) and when it does my egp.dat file gets deleted. Is this normal? What is causing this and can it be prevented? And finally would saving it onto a USB solve this?

in main menu you will have bh eph backup, activate it and it should restore epg

I've the same problem for openpli.
What is the solution there?

Figured it out.

After a successful reboot the information is saved from memory and retained hereafter.

Just need to do a full reboot everyday, I guess...

If there is a way to save the data on the fly, without a reboot, let me know.
