to feed another receiver but it will only work on the same polorization as the f5 basicaly useless

The loop through connection allows you to connect another sat receiver without connecting to the LNB, the disadvantage you can't have both receivers on at the same or if you do only one receiver will determine what you will able to watch on the other and before the question is asked I will tell you it does not mean that while your first receiver is able to clear channels the second one will clear channels to unless you also put the secret ingredient in.

for connecting test equipment like a spectrum analyzer.
you will have to run another coax to the dish for 2 receivers or a dual tuner receiver.
