  • Hello.
    I'm struggling with this problem in about 3 months and not find a solution.

    I have a vu+ solo with redlight 0500:043800 card, that worked kind of fine with cccam 2.1.3 but not with 2.2.1 or 2.3, it caused high cpu usage for no reason.
    So I decided to move to OSCAM. It's very flexible and many options, but cpu usage average is always high. 0.97 right now, and box is in standby, and rebooted only a few hours ago.

    tried a lot of configs and many different versions. None worked, now I'm always trying the last one for a few days...
    OSCAM 1.20-unstable_svn build r8721 (oscam-svn8721-mips-tuxbox-oe2.0-webif-Distribution)
    image blackhole 2.0.3 ( before was vti, and same results)

    oscam.conf

    oscam.server

    And I have to use cccam to view channels in the box because oscam freezed the image but continued serving, zapping channel sometimes worked, other times had to restart oscam. because of that I use cccam as client.
    oscam.user

    Code
    [account]
    user                          = localcc
    pwd                           = xxxxxx
    au                            = red
    group                         = 1,2
    cccmaxhops                    = 2
    cccreshare                    = 0

    oscam.services

    Code
    [REDLIGHT]
    caid				= 0500
    provid				= 043800
    srvid				= 364C,4223,4224,4225,000A,35C0,35C1,35C2,35C3,35C4,35C6,35C7,35C8

    15:17:36 up 1 day, 11:04, 1 user, load average: 1.49, 1.04, 0.95

    thank you

  • [reader]label = redprotocol = internaldevice = /dev/sci0services = redlightcaid = 0500detect = cdmhz = 500cardmhz = 357ident = 0500:043800group = 1emmcache = 1,3,2lb_weight = 101 im using cccam 2.13 and its working fine in that but this shoud help im sure

    Are you sure it is oscam that's hogging the memory, post your output of top command in telnet. Your reader speeds are low so remove these lines & let oscam clock it to the right speed automatically.

    Code
    mhz                           = 2700
    cardmhz                       = 450

    There are other factors to consider such as number of connected peers but we can only go by the info you give us.

  • About 30 users and 30 peers.

    It must be something about the card or reader. If I disable the card reader in oscam, the average load drops immediately: load average: 0.09, 0.36, 0.72

    I configured a friend vu+ solo with a seca card and in there it is 0.10 load average, so I must be doing things right ( +-20 peers)

    My vu+ solo Top command:

    Log after I started reader with mhz settings blank:

    But Loads cpu again: load average: 1.55, 0.71, 0.71

  • I made a test server.
    Installed debian 6 server on a old pc, copied the oscam files and executed it, there using the vuloso only as card reader with cccam 2.1.3.
    It is running for more than 2 hours with load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 ( on the PC)
    vu+: load average: 0.00, 0.04, 0.06

    but this is no solution because it is consuming more electricity.

    I just can't find out why oscam reading card directly uses so much cpu on the vu+...

  • So I cleared oscam.services and oscam.provid, and disabled cccam stealth and I think it fixed the problem...

    19:21:15 up 5 days, 21:28, 1 user, load average: 0.03, 0.11, 0.15

    how about that?

  • No the pc as server was only a test of a few hours long.

    this last post is related to the vu+ solo that is no longer using high cpu. almost 6 days with no freezing and no problems of high cpu as I had before.
