  • Hello everyone,

I have only recently joined this game. My first purchased was a ***box F5. Now i want to move to a better receiver with a 7 day guide and have around £150 to spend on it.

I only plan to use this box as a client box similar to what I have with my F5. With there being so many boxes out there i'm hoping some of you nice people can point me in the right direction.

  • For boxes in your range these would be the best 2 IMO

  • Not to mention that if your "gift" is sly UK your soon be out of luck because as its going nobody will be able to share it any more due to sly changing there encryption to stop people making money out of them iam not having a go and letting you know what may happen

  • Had I known about this forum I wouldn't have made that mistake. However, we all make mistakes and that's how we learn by not making the same mistake twice. I'll go through all the tutorials and seek any advice i may need from the good folk on this forum. like I said I'm new to all this satellite stuff.......but hopefully my knowledge of pcs and networking my come in handy.

  • I was thinking of getting a satellite box. but now as you said *** are going to be changing their decryption to stop card sharing, I am thinking I would just be best to buy a freeview satellite box?

Every provider will introduce anti cardsharing measures on their encryption at some point but dont let this put you off buying a proper linux receiver!!!openboxes are not open source so steer clear m8

There is so much to offer on linux capable boxes that i cant even think of them all in 1 post...for a start some boxes have interchangeable tuners and also massive support...plugins etc.
