dns mystery?

  • just got fibre installed and got server all sorted apart from a real mystery problem. i cannot connect via cline or nline within my hse from my dns address but my family can?
    i now have to put in my internal ip. thought i had seen it all?

    C: 192.168.1.55 1111 me 1234 <<<< does work



    C: mydns.dns.org 1111 me 1234 <<<< does not work

  • really? i used the dns on my last router so if it didnt refresh id b the first to know?


    Dns doesn't work for me (at least it didn't last time I tested this on my old router) - I would always use internal IP address, and if you looked around at the various threads in the forum you will find this is quite the usual thing to do.

    If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....
