Is it only a satellites.xml file or a whole channel list you need to load ?
yes it is xml file thanks am very much in the dark
You don`t need dreambox edit to do this, use an FTP tool like filezilla or dreambox control center, send the satellites.xml file to /etc/tuxbox/, overwrite the file that`s already there and reboot your receiver..

If it is a single sattelites.xml file,meaning you want to update the present file already in your box with updated frequencies,just use DCC or whatever ftp client and transfer the new file to /etc/tuxbox (if your box is DM800 as i see in your signature)Next you have to make a scan to update your received channels.
We usually use Dreamboxedit to transfer full packs with channels favorites etc ( its a directory that we first load to dreamboxedit program and next we transfer it to our box.The file sattelites.xml is of course included in it.
