  • Hi Everyone first post and just a few questions if I may.

Just got my openbox fantastic piece of kit for the money very happy.

Just spent the night editing my openbox channels into order everything works great.

I have searched without success for a answer.

When scrolling through the channels I see the names on the OSD with info for the channel such as $MUTV with Sat infomation.

I understand the $ means subscription but in all honestly it makes the channel name look stupid. Is there anyway to remove the $ sign and also the sat information from the Channel OSD ?

I have also noticed the favourites are limited, is there anyway way to add more favourite menu`s?

The TV remote says TV can i set this up to operate my TV?

One final thing can I add Picons to the channels?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi, welcome to the forum. You can take the $ sign off the channels. To do this you need to use this http://linuxsat-shares.com/ope…ox_s9_channel_editor.html
Heres a pdf to show you how to use the editor How to edit Openbox S9 Settings.pdf
You will need to change the extension of the channel lists http://linuxsat-shares.com/ope…n-dbs-abs-openbox-s9.html
When you have the channels loaded into the editor you can edit off the $ symbol by clicking each channel and a menu pops up to let you remove it. Ive read somewhere this can mess up any channels you may have timed recordings on. Its very time consuming removing the symbol, but it can be done.
There is no way of adding extra favourites lists
I dont think you can set the remote up for your tv
You cant add picons. Hope this helps

    thanks again

  • Theres a better editor here http://linuxsat-shares.com/ope…r-%5Bsetedithd100%5D.html I linked the other one because he wanted to remove the $ symbol.
Unfortunately there is no program like like DCC or filezilla to edit or play around. You can enter the cline manually with the remote, thats about it really.
