Can't install Scam

    I am completelly novice to these things and parden me for my ignorance.


    I have two new VU+ Solo2. I have Swedish Cmore and Viasat and Polish TNK (Telewizja na karte) smartcards.


    I have installed the latest VIX image on both and cccam 2.2.1 too. For the Polish card I suspect I need Scam 3.59, so I installed this on one of the boxes. I activated Scam 3.59 and the Polish card started decoding - well also the Swedish cards. (At first, today not... :( )


    So, I now of course want to do a homeshare. Tried to also install Scam on the second box, but it want install. I have ftp:d the Scam to the box's tmp-folder, installed it from the setup menu and strange,,, the Scam doesn't show up, so I can't activate it.
    So, I go on with trying to flash the box with the VIX image again, but it doesn't work. I have gone through the process exactly as the instruction tells me to do - I have even changed USB-stick, but still, the receivers just boots up normally, not recognizing the USB or flash file. (No message "Press Power button", just "Starting")


    What can possibly have gone wrong? Is there any way to completelly restore the receiver? Simple Factory reset doesn't do the work. All old files are still there.


    Btw, is homesharing legal in most European countries? I only mean sharing my "paid for" cards in my own house!

    make sure on the usb stick there is only one folder named vuplus and inside this folder the image files, nothing else on this usb stick.
    If you already have one box setup as you like then simply make a full image backup and then install the same on the other box...
    legalities differ from country to country.
    I would suggest that what you do in your own home is your own business.( please take the time to read the site rules carefully )
    as far as sharing from on stb to another you have a lot to read but I guarantee you will enjoy it
    get reading and if you come against any problems ,,post them in the correct section..

    I could also add this information. When I go to Image Manager, I get this message:


    "Device:There was a problem with this device, please reformat." What could that mean?


    I presume the reformat message comes up in pc?' thats beacuase it was probably formatted to ext3 or ext4 in the solo2...
    in your pc ,reformat it to fat32 then plug it back in to the solo2 ,in vix it will be automatically initialised then try backup image again..

    But I now I suspect, hmmm, might it be..? I formatted the USB on a mac. Mac always create some hidden files or folders for indexing - I think. Like: .Trashes, .Sptlight-V100 and .fseventsd.
    I might have to format the USB on my PC..?

    I formatted the USB. Got the image files on the stick. Powered down on the back. Inserted USB and at first all started as it should, but now the display has been showing "Checking USB" for five minutes,,, or even longer. What now?


    Edit: Now for almost 15 minutes. Is it safe to pull out the USB and turn off the receiver? #nervous now
