Firstly what an excellent site, managed to get this far but am now stuck!
When connecting filezilla to my vu duo i get the massage : Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server".
I'm using my IP with username: root and no password
Any help would be gratefully received.

I may have picked you up wrong but you should be using the default password or if you have changed it that password to ftp it..
i had same problem but i was pointed to a web hosting site free registration .set up there and the used my web user name n password to filezilla and also in filezilla site manager i copied my web hosting details .so i just go to site manager now i dont know if this helps you but there ya go im a newbie too cheers

He's trying to ftp his box with filezilla... Not external access to his box...

Tried with DHPC on and off.
Tried with Primary DNS and IP Address. Using VIX image but can't get Filzilla to connect to my box!
Using root and vuplus in Filezilla.

i dont know if it helps but try as explained in my first post this connects your pc to box easily in filezilla worth a try. ps im not well up on transfers yet but getting there with the help of this great forum
Sussed it. The FTP setting on my box was disabled! On to the next problem!
