I'm totally new to this scene but I'm a very quick learner when it comes to stuff like this since I am a certified electronics technician and have had a lot of training when it comes to programming and file editing. I have studied everything I've been able to come across about these receivers this past week so I have some understanding about how they work. I recently had a satellite dish installed and bought a VU+ Solo2 thinking I would be able to use this receiver with my service. I had my VU+ sent for reprogramming but had to receive it just the way it left. My service providers said that they could not program my VU+ Solo2 to work with their services since they have never attempted to do so on a VU+. I however think this is bull**** since they use Dreamboxes running Enigma2 which is exactly the same as my VU+ Solo2. I ended up having to buy a Dreambox 500HD from them instead, the DB is running Newnigma2 v3.2.2, Enigma 2011-07-06-experimental, Newnigma2-camd-cccam-config, Newnigma2-camd-mgcamd 1.38.
They tried to shut anyone out of customizing the receiver by not providing the info for connecting using FTP but I quickly found that info in var/keys/mg_cfg so I am now able to FTP to the DB using Filezilla. What I need help with is getting my VU+ Solo2 to run under the same service as the DB without being able to get in touch with the people running the service. Is there any way to just transfer over the files needed from the DB to the VU+ so that nothing changes within the cams/emus? If not, how do I do it manually? Which files are most crucial not to change to be able to connecting to the service? In short all I want to do is move everything from the DB to my VU+. I have downloaded /Root from the DB to my PC using Filezilla but I noticed there were some errors during download written in red so I don't know if EVERY file transferred correctly to my PC. I know the cams and login info to the server is crucial obviously but what else do I need to know? If not being able to get the answers I need here on this forum I would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. The VU+ Solo2 has OpenPLI 4.0 installed right now.
