thanks to inspiral,done the ssl first reflashed got no ca error fixed that it booted upto the flashed image and i now have my tuner showing up dm800 pvr dreamboxuk image but no freeview even coming through i think it came up transponder fail didnt quite catch it all. Also should the fan kick in as soon as you connect the power if not would that mean a broken tuner

No fan will only kick-in if needed?
Did you setup you're tuner & scan for channels ?? -
yeah done all that went in to sat meter no signal coming through then went to tuner said alps b2b dvs tried a rescan nothing , now after turning off box its saying no tuner detected again.

Unplug it from mains!!
Then Open it up m8, & ensure the tuner is nicely seated to motherboard..This Dreambox uk image you had on, was it with ssl84b ?

it has ssl84 on my working 800 and 75 and 76r came up in a back up file from working 800 but its not a nfi file.
When i flashed the dodgey one it started up with ssl82 no tuner, then i updated it to 84 still no luck. -
have you checked that the tuner is seated to mobo ok ?

im getting a bit baffled really?
do you have another PSU to try?im hoping 4u your Tuners not gone m8 ???
Or u could try a few diff images to see if any joy likes??
