would a 5oogb SSD work in a DM800SE

There are 2 replies in this Thread which was already clicked 1,194 times. The last Post () by macsporran.

    witing my new dm800se and had 1 before so fine flashing etc. But was wondering if a solid state HD would work as I hav 1 lying about. if not then il need to get 1 from the bay, but just wondering if that would work so i can be up and running right away rather than wait on new HD coming also.

    No reason why it shouldn't work. I have a normal 500gb HDD in mine and it works fine, The DM800 shouldn't be able to distinguish between a normal HDD and a solid state one.


    Best way to find out is just install it and see what happens.

    Two big advantages you have there. The size of the SSD compared with mechanical drives, and of course, data transfer speed. The DM is a small box, so I would think an SSD would be perfect. Lucky man to have a 500GB lying around spare!
