Help with red light on vu duo

    Have started a new thread to try and get this sorted...recently had a power surge with blew my tv and vu duo box have read up on other forums and threads that could well be capacitor thats failed. Have taken lid off and said capacitor was not there it seems they have changed design of board!!...can this still be fixed does anyone have the knowhow wether its still possible for me to fix this problem myself or will it have to be sent off to specialist!!!please advise as ive been without tv for a week and really need to get this sorted any help appreciated!!c7442aeacb1b1.jpghave attached this image so you can see what i mean it seems i could be the only one who has a different mother board to everyone else!!!This is a original vu duo box bought only back in november last year!!!

    Send it back to the seller. Its probably only the PSU that has bought it.

    I echo the other responses. If it is only 6 months old then it must go back else you void your warranty messing around with it. That's assuming you bought it new, of course.


    If not new and therefore, no warranty (I still try the original seller first) then:


    Red light would seem to confirm that you are getting power to the unit.
    Can you use a multimeter?
    Then check if the DC levels are present. 12V DC (HDD) & 5V DC (Mobo or HDD)


    I can't really tell from the photo you posted but are you saying the PSU is now part of the motherboard? If so are you sure it's an original box coz normally the PSU is a separate board to the left at the back (looking from the front) as per the lin posted by mckee25 above.


    Some more photos of the complete insides might help someone help you further.
