Hi, i need to attach a crash log to the vix team as my box keeps crashing, i want to get that log on my computer to send, i can see the log in the dcc but don't know how to put it on my laptop, still learning:59: can anyone advise? i should add that it's a vusolo2 box using the latest vix apollo image.

In Dcc when you click on the ftp tab you will have two panes in front of you... on the right hand side at the top below the exit tab is a small arrow which opens a drop down menu. Select your desktop from here.... when you have done that select the crash log file from the left hand side pane, when you have highlighted the file click on the arrow facing to the right in the middle of the screen. This will copy the file from your solo2 to your pc desktop.

Click on the crash log to highlight it > Click the drop down bar to navigate to the desktop > Click the arrow to send to the desktop.

Cheers for that, i managed to get the log on there:78: i was told it was a problem with plugins, ts media was one of them, was i just unlucky with those downloads? or can that happen?

Just unlucky I hope bud, but a couple of things I have noticed with the latest version of ViX (Apollo) regards plugins.... when you update the image version whether it be a full re-flash or using the online update and then install the settings backup which includes plugins the version of ts media installed (full 7.5) in my case rolls back to version 7.2 and also overwrites the proxy links file with the default one....
Also the Linuxsat support plugin is removed completely.....

It only restores plugins on feeds. You can manually select plugin folders in backup settings.

Which has always been the case, it will connect to the feeda and grab the latest versions of any plugins it finds, those not on the feeds are not restored.

I have reflashed my box and removed most plugins but it still crashes, the latest was when i press green to download plugins, somethings not right at the moment.

you can also send logs to us directly from the receiver using the inbuilt logs manager. rather than faffing about uploading them to the forum.

I did try that, it says i haven't set something up, it took me long enough to do the other way.

you need to enter a email address and your forum user name in the setup page in the logs manager.
