have linuxmint 17 iso file loaded to c/drive on pc but can't get it to run,is there something else i need to do to get this to work

I`m not familiar with this version but i guess it`s all the same so please do the following.
You say you downloaded the iso file.
Next you have to burn a dvd from the iso file.
Then you have to boot your computer from this dvd and install it. -
