Null Modem Cable & USB to Modem Cable

    My dreambox died and I need to reflash it using a Null Modem Cable.


    I've been told that the Null Modem Cable is not the same as a Serial or RS232 Cable.


    I was searching Maplin and I found these two products:

    Would these two work in flashing my dreambox using DreamUp?

    The ones from maplins work fine i have these you can get them cheaper but not all come with the important driver cd for the usb-to-serial cable


    the prices have double since i bought mine from them on both cables try your local computer shop for cheaper cables the null modem one should be less than a fiver

    To be honest i'd seriously recommend you keep the cable, they can be a real life saver when things go belly up and you never know when your going to need it again ( which i bet you will one day ).

    Oh yeh of course, I'm returning the expensive ones once I've bought some cheaper ones that I can test/work.
