42e scan

hi.can anyone help in this regard.when i try to scan 42e i get the message "nothing to scan! please setup your tuner settings before you start a service scan."im using catseye settings and wanted to do a manual scan for single sattellites.where am i going wrong?thanks

im not using usuals for this sat.have external motor to drive dish
