Vu solo EPG problems help

Morning all

I have a vu solo on vix Apolo 64 and I am having a lot of problems with it for the last month.

Cross EPG will not up date automatically I got loads of help on here with that problem still no joy and manually now the box just hangs at reading summaries and vix symbol in the corner it will do it sum times manually after reseting the box a few times

Am also getting a few error messages:

crossEPG error: No valid NIM found
No data on transponder (timeout reading PAT)
No free tuner

If I put the box in standby it will not switch on in the morning I have to press the rest every time
If I leave the box switched on all night I turn the TV on in the morning and the vix symbol is in the corner it will not let me change the channel or do anything I have to rest the box.

Every time I rest the box it loses the EPG which rarely downloads

Am sorry for all the stuff i have listed but this box is giving me a lot if grief lol.
I also have solo 2 setup the same and have no problems at all

Hopefully I can get this sorted. If anyone has a backup for a solo on vix can they please post it and I will try that. I have flashed the box with older versions of vix still not joy.
The box is about 5 months old

Hi all I followed master G's setup to the letter still no joy It took 3hrs to create the EPG IMPORT the the box crashed still no EPG :26_002:

Hopefully sum one on here can give more subjections to try or sumone on here will get a cheep vu solo

hi
i removed tspanel from the box and then restarted the box. I then set cross epg to download at 20.15 then put the box in standby switched the box on and got error message No Free Tuner Available no channels are working. going to re-flash and hopefully this will cure my problem

If you are using the latest builds of openvix image with CCcam 2.2.1 and below that is the problem.. Try CCcam 2.3.0 and let us know if it makes any difference..

i was using cccam 2.1.3 changed to cccam 2.3.0

set cross epg to download @ 20.40 put the box in standby swiched the box on again ( No Error Message this time about no free tuner) and the epg has updated i checked info about database and last cross epg update was 20.41. Not sure if this had anything to do with my problem but was worth a go.

going to do a flash now and and set all up again

hi all

i re-flashed the solo with vix Apollo 64 tonight and set all up again. i downloaded crossepg and the vix symbol appeared and sat in the corner of the tv for 15min i had to restart the box. on the second attempt it seem too work fine so hopefully this is the problem fixed. i will find out in the morning if it has updated automatically.

Yes I find the box a bit slow to load things and the vix symbol tends to spin a lot. I did try what masterg suggested but it took ages to load the xmltv EPG then the solo crashed. I do store the EPG & picons on a 16gb USB pen.
To create a swap file in vix do you press:
Menu,System,Storage devices,Initialisation mine says (USB Flash Memory)-External 15.610GB
PRESS OK,Red Button,Initialise
Blue button,Vix,Swap Manager,Create,Autostart,Activate, then select 256mb?

Is this the correct way to creat a swap file as I have not created one before?
Can I still save the EPG and picons onto the same usb pen?

Thanks for the fast repsponce I formatted the USB pen to flat 32 and mounted it as media/USB and stored picons and EPG on it.
So I will have to initialise=format to create ext file system this will probably erase all data on the USB pen.
Do I need to remount the USB pen as media/USB,then create the swap file via the vix menu?
Then FTP picons, download cross epg again

Morning all I tried to switch the solo on this morning no joy had to reset it and the epg didn't down load either. So I created a 256mg swap file before coming to work and set the epg to download again at 12. So I will see when I get home later if this has helped
