After installing the image using filezilla and Putty telnet using this command : cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot, the dm booted right up. I then did a channel search on 0.8W. Everything went well until I wanted to do a reboot after hiding "Games" in the settings menu.
Now it won't reboot. After a while it turns itself off. Also, I tried to connect with filezilla before it got a chance to turn itself off but connection was not found.
I also pulled the power plug for 30 minutes and tried to reboot -but with the same result.
Now what??
Any ideas

Try flashing image with dreamup
Using null(232) cable
Preferably using an old desktop PC, as laptops with USB/232 cables are very temperamental m8 -
If you don't have any communication with the receiver over the network, your only option is to reflash an image with dreamup and a rs232/null modem cable.

Thanks for the quick reply :)
I'll take a whack at if I can find my null modem cable which hasn't been used for the past 15 years...
Now I know what to do anyway -thanks again. -
