Help newbie with new box.

    Hi everyone, after a lot of reading on this forum , i purchased the vu+duo2 with vix installed , had the box over a week now and really struggling with setting it up. I am stuck at the moment cannot connect to receiver with filezilla, keep getting this message, STATUS- INSECURE SERVER, DOES NOT SUPPORT FTP OVER TLS.
    COMMAND- USER ROOT
    RESPONCE- 331 PLEASE SPECIFY THE PASSWORD
    COMMAND- PASSWORD
    RESPONCE- 530 LOG IN INCORRECT
    ERROR- CRITICAL ERROR, COULD NOT CONNECT TO SERVER.
    Being a newbie i am finding this difficult to understand no matter how much i read on this forum, so all help would be very much appreciated.

    Ok when you open Filezilla in the box Host type the ip address of your duo2 (you can find this by pressing on your remote menu/information/network)


    Then in the username box type root, the password box you should be able to leave blank (but if it asks for a password try vuplus) and in the port box type 21


    Try that and report back to us buddy....

    Thanks for the quick reply mckee25, the problem was the password , I had not put a password in , but now changed it to vuplus and hey presto it worked , many thanks again, will now read on .

    As soon as possible would be a good idea to change that defaul password to one of your own personalised
    :
    In telnet type passwd (press return)



    enter required password (press return)



    enter required password again (press return)



    password now set!
