Need help flashing Zgemma Star 2S

Hi,

I've just bought a ZGemma Star 2S box, am I right in thinking it's similar to a Cloud ibox 2? I've tried downloading the OpenViz image from zgemma.tv and putting the extracted folder on an 8gb dongle, stuck it in the back and booted up, nothing happens though I get the Open ATV splash screen and no more.

What am I missing here?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I can't find much info about the ZGemma unit.

Thanks for the help, I'm still having problems... hit by the first hurdle.

I've got an 8GB USB stick which I've formatted to FAT32, using both the quick and the slow format methods.
I've downloaded a few OpenVIZ images from zgemma.tv, unzipped and copied the folder over to the USB, then stuck it in the back of the box, it says boot, then counts up to 100 with the Open ATV splash screen it never once say's USB on the display, I've even tried a different USB and different images, still the same.

I know the USB stick and port must be working, because it puts a few folders in there once I've booted it up, Timeshift and something else.

Can you help me, I'm really struggling with this!

I've read somewhere that I can try and flash with the bootloader from the zgemma tv site, because tspanel can sometimes mess things up?

You need to hold the power on/off button for 3-4 seconds once it loads 100 percent to detect USB and start loading the image.

You dont need to hold the power button in at all, place the USB stick with image on in the rear USB slot switch the receiver on with the little white rear power switch the display will read -USB- now press the power button just once and then the display should read FLSH if it does not then there is a problem with either your USB stick or the Image

Use sticks less than 4gb in size and use a good name brand. Personally found the maplins own brand sticks bullet proof.

I have just bought zgemma-star 2s box and there is no usb on the back of the box only on the front having trouble trying to get a gift on it must be easy if you know how to do it any help would be welcome

If you mean by a GIFT a service from a payserver then i doubt you will get help

Try kingston or sandisk I flashed one and used a kingston and it flashed no problem -are you using rear USB port

I don't know if this matters or not but the folder named zgemma needs to go on the usb stick.

kingston worked in mine :)
