Ive been working on this , and getting some ideas together , and have a plan to fit a drive and fan into the Wetek , I feel there is enough room in the in it to keep a 2.5 drive inside , I will try get my to cover on a cnc mill this week and mill vents for the fan and a few others for ventilation its going to be tight but found a sata to usb case I can take the board out and its small in size Maplin have the small micro fans looks like the ones on a PI this will assist the slight reduction in cooler size, might need to increase the power supply by 0.5a but i doubt it ,obviously the warranty will be zero doing this but worth a play,
I will post picks of my shambles when done

be good to c sacrifice 1 for the many heheheh :)

would be interesting if this was thought of before by wetek, but maybe the extra heat and cost of fitting a bracket may have pushed the price up
maybe next time for the wetek2 !!
-
Im planning on milling out the wetek logo bottom right so its thru and doing the same on the top left corner giving 2, this will be the vents and possibly the side somewhere, measuring and making a program atm

6551fb38d.jpg So now I have removed the heat sink to mill it out for the fan or replace it for better you will see a witness from the adhesive its bonded with the correct stuff but only about 60 percent of the chip was making contact to the heatsink so it could have cooled more efficiently but this was still sufficient , please note anyone going to attempt this you need to start with gradual left and right twists on the cooler you will feel it go then stop like all the play is taken up you need to gradually increase pressure after 3 twists in each direction till you start to feel concern and panic and continue the process it will eventually tear the adhesive more and more till you feel a sudden release , Not recommended for the faint hearted and be prepared to accept that you destroy your unit but if you got to this point you already made that decision done sensibly and gradually you should be ok
:good news: -
I always find putting it in the freezer for a few hours prior makes the glue brittle and makes it easier to remove the heatsink. Sometimes you can get a thin razor blade in between and cut it.....or fishing line to slice through it. Safer than the twisting action. ....
