new boxes are more of how much you want to spend
and do you need a single tuner ,or a twin tuner also
some models have provision to change tuners and others
have sat and cable tuners fitted, technomate have a good
selection linux new models now and the prices are good
as for hd unless you have a official box and subscription
the hd chns on 28e and 13e for one provider cant be opened
but there are still lots of hd chns available on most satellites
with a motorised dish, and advice on which box to go for is
your choice on the spec, make, style and price also cccams
can be used on all linux boxes, i think everyone will have
a opinion on what the best box is only you know what you expect from it -
I'd look at mips receivers if you want it to run as a server also.
Vu+ have a great range also but are pricey (but worth it in my opinion):

If it were me, I'd steer clear of the amiko range (unless you are a fan of forever sorting out stability/compatibility issues) -
