I don't have eagle mini
but if is same as eagle standard i say its great but remember it has only one team for support
but with dm800 they are many team for it
i would go for dm 800 hd or better DM800SE
only looking for a cheap 2nd hd box for the bedroom.
but must have good epg.
and can run off my debian server.
could go for openbox....spiderbox....or eagle....any more?
but like i said need good epg as i dont want to take tv mag to bed...
and about the dm800 hd i think i would got abit more and get the vu solo as i love my vu duo........
as a cheap second box i think the openbox S9 is excellent value.
Like Gaz i'd be interested in the Eaglebox HD!
But owning a spiderbox and seeing plenty openboxes i'm iffy about getting another client closed sourced box..
Support only seems to last about a year and dies off then!
Think the closed sourced is telling already from early comments on alsh@at
Quotehowever it is slow to decode when compared to my old eagle
The eagle mini/eagle 800hd/openbox only have now and next epg so best to avoid these boxes
you could get a cheap clone dm800 or the tm800 the price seems to have dropped a lot at some retailers
Mine arrived this morning - will post back with my findings - the EagleBox Mini that is. Unpacked it, and only negative is no batteries for the remote, and the usual bad translation in the manual, but who reads the manual! Strikingly tiny, you are talking Jean Pocket tiny - I can confirm it fits in my pocket! It has LNB IN and LNB OUT, one USB port, HDMI, and the remote works with a remote eye so you can pop the unit behind the telly and use the remote fine. Has other sockets such as RS-232, AV and Digital Audio, Anyway, I need to have a play with it!
Here is a review of the Eagle BOX MINI HD by silverfox0786
QuoteDisplay MoreThe Box is small and no space was wasted good good
Before getting to the remote the manual in plastic sheet was placed and bellow that a few tick box items
These Items I'm sure will alleviate a few buyer restrictions
there was as standard a Componet and RS232 cable in the box and a yes yes item and IR Blaster
The Box itself is small and way smaller than a DM500 its just shy bigger than my fitPC2
i also is wall mountable via screw hooks or supplied 3M Stickypads which is also included with the IR Blaster
The remote is very slim lines and has a nice directional pad feature in chrome brushed silver looks cooool
So in essence you can take this out the box and connect it ready to role to a SD or HD TV with out anything extra
connecting it up was easy LNB, HDMI, Netcable and supplied 12v Power Supply is all you need [optional extra is a USB Pendrive] [1 USB Port on Side]
The Menu is easy if your a spiderbox user then the menu is same just different look on GUI in fact it reminded me of the Bald Eagle with the color scheme used
As usual you have the CCcam and Newcamd features easily added without issues either by USB or manually with remote nice and easy
The only thing i will say is the IR blaster is there so box can be hidden away well that is all well and good but you will have to use it via HDMI for that as it uses the same port as the component port
So Far this box ticks many boxes and I'm pretty happy with it here are a few boxes that it ticks for me
Great Price
Comes complete ready to go for a HD or SD TV
Very small and sleek
wall mountable [with stickpad fixings]
slimline remote
easy menu GUI
CCcam/Newcamd compatible
USB Port
HDMI
Component [with cable]
RS232 [With Cable]
IR Blaster
Very easy to navigate
The only downpoint i saw which is not a major downpoint is the IR blaster cant be used with a SD TV

No its a bit like the spiderbox and the openbox..
Closed souced linux, so it has its own channel lists different from everything else..
And cccam is integrated in the firmware..
