i have flashed the box with BlackHole-1.6.6 its working, i have installed hdd. i cant seem to see the cams and also do i need format the hdd. basically i have the image installed

There are no cams installed on the image you will have to add them yourself, BlackHole Softcam Collection For All Providers E2 .
If there are movies already on the HDD then initialization may not be need and skip to setting up mountpoints.
Menu > Setup > System > Hard disk > Initalization > Should show you device, press ok to initialize.
Blue button x2 > Devices Manager > Mountpoints/Red > Set path for device as /media/hdd/ > Save > Restart VU+

master g i have done this Menu > Setup > System > Hard disk > Initalization > Should show you device, press ok to initialize ( it shows the hdd details but when i go 2 initialize says "unable to initialize hdd Error:creating partition failed

Try Menu > Setup > System > Harddisk > Filesystem check

Is it possible you can hook the HDD to another computer and format it, you can use GParted and format to EXT3.

i have $kyHd box, if refit it and do factory rest will that cure it

Not tried that buddy, looks like theres some bad sectors on that drive or its faulty, so anything is worth a try.

I get the same errors when trying to initialize and doing a filesystem check(this happen with two different hard drives,two different types).I haven't had a chance to do much to solve the problem but I was told if I flashed the box with an official original image I should be able to initialize the hard drive.Hope this helps.

m8 i connected my hdd to a desktop with linux. i when to ubuntu software downloads & typed in gpart. format the hdd to ext3, then partition the hdd. watch this could help Format Partition EXT NTFS FAT - GParted - Ubuntu Linux 8.04 - YouTube all so the $ly Box didn't work!!!!
