Hello guys, i just found my old DM500-s, and it has been a long time since i used it.
I've heard good things about Gemini, OpenPLi and Command... But mostly good things about OpenPli... Now, since i have an DM500-S, can i install OpenPli in it?
Can i install OpenPLi on Dm500-s??

DM500s is a dm500....
the s represents satellite and not c for cable T forterrestrial..
when named DM500(s) or dm500(s) its usually a clone.
So beware of images with timebomb..
For example I had a Dreambox 500+s which is an original.. -

How do i know which image has timebomb? :O :O
Does openpli or gemini have timebomb? -
Gemini are the original image makers for original Dreambox ..
But they only started implementing the anti-clone measures in later images..The clone image will usually tell you :"no timebomb"..
I have never had a clone so I cant help you with that.. -
why not use commando far better image

yes commando 15.1a rocks

Oscam, CCcam & Mgcamd For Commando Neutrino Image Dm500
Thank you! I will try one of them.
But i have a new problem... i've been searching like crazy for my Null modem Cable, and haven't found it... I also found out that my pc doesn't have a COM port to use the Null modem cable to flash the dreambox...
I am going to buy one, that is an adapter for the Null modem cable... But meanwhile, is there any other way for me to flash the dreambox without having a Null modem Cable?? :( -
what image you running the now ?
i norm update via ftp by sticking my image in the temp folder and installing via remote
dont do the above untill you get a replay to or not as you may stop the booting of stb
i norm only update same image that way and have never tryed to change systems that way
so it may not be best way to move forward :)
you can also flash wizard pro if i mind right can flash via eithernet but id have to check back -

Wow buddy--must be bargain of the century!!!!
Yes ,,as the + sign simply means extra ran space for more addons nothing else...
but as far as i can recall its the same image..... -
You don`t need dreamup to flash this image, do it in telnet with putty or dreambox control center..
To flash an image using Telnet
This method will only work with a .img image file.
Rename the image file to backup.img
FTP the image file to the /tmp folder on the dreambox
Telnet to your box with putty or dreambox control center and paste the following command, then press enter: -

Well guys. I have a small problem :)
I bought a null modem cable and everything and successfully flashed it to OpenPLi by using DreamUP.
But it's SLOOOOW as hell, and it crashes sometimes when i try to open some channels (I have no idea why) :O
But i tried to flash it to commando (the links you sent me), but i have no idea how to do it.. With DreamUP it can only accept the extension file .nfi and not .img
How can i flash it to commando? :OSorry for these stupid questions :(
