  • Hi All,

Can someone advise me of how to set up the elevation angles on my motor and dish please?
The following is from dishpointer.com for my postcode

    Satellite 0.8W Intelsat
    Elevation 28.9
    Azimuth (true) 178.1
    Azimuth (magn) 180.1

    Cheers
    Kieron

  • This would be to receive 28.2ºE FIXED
But to find the motor settings go to the link and find your size dish
    DISHPOINTER

  • I need to set it up against the most southern satellite, in my case is 0.8w.

I just need to know at which angle to set the dish and motor.
And should the arm of the motor be parallel to the pole it is mounted on?

  • The motor bracket that fixes to your pole will have a latitude scale on it, set it to your latitude, i.e. 53. In your case. The bracket on the dish can then be set manually once you have sent the dish to 0.8w, to get maximum signal.
The short pole of the motor shouldn't be parallel with the pole on the wall.

Are you sure you wish to publish your long and lat settings?

Might want to blank those out, but upto you

  • Too late prophet bud..
    You have them copied too!!!
Besides it only shows the nearest point not the exact location of his dish ;)
    :tinfoil:

I guess only the original poster knows how close the point he picked is to his dish, but four significant digits after the decimal is quite accurate. The only question is does he or his immediate neighbor have a ???????? ;)
