You can use oscam on its own, it integrates CCcam, newcamd and many other protocols. Another way is using a combination of oscam+CCcam2.1.3, Dream elite image is the only one i know of that has this. If you dont want to use this image you would need to modify CCcam script to start/stop the cams and then add the oscam binary manually. The configs are here, How to - CCcam + Oscam S*Y IT 09CD. The tuner supplies the power to the motor as well as the obvious. Just a thought it is possible your power supply is the problem.

I think the tuner in your 500 was probably knackered when you bought it (especially if it was fleabay ) I wouldn't let that put you off going for the same box again, I am not sure about the tm500 but have read of problems with the images in the past. Do you know anyone with a working dm500 you could test the motor with before buying.

If you would rather keep the image you are using, first update your sat.xml file HERE
Then follow the procedure for adding the new sats in the guide below for your setup.

This should be available on the pli panel under older cams, if not here is the file to install manually.

For added security i would also recommend changing your port from the default 12000 & informing you peers of the change.

How are you updating your debian cfg file? you do not edit the file in var/ect, have a read of this.

If you have tried other bouquets, Updating sat.xml file, ect then i think the quickest & easiest way to solve this is flash a new image.
